I think it’s easy to see that there are so many things you can get up to in Kaua’i in just one day, and it’s so hard to choose and navigate it! So although there are many possibilities when it comes to planning a morning, afternoon, and evening of activities, we’ve scheduled a day that we hope will give you all the pleasure and culture that Kaua’i has to offer.
If you happen to need help when it comes to selecting what you want to do from sunrise to sunset, take a look at what we have arranged! And you can use this template for guidance when you go to plan any other days, you’ll be on the Garden Island.
Grab some breakfast at Kountry Kitchen which is conveniently located in Downtown Kapa’a, across from the Kapa’a Library and bike path. They’re known for their plate-sized macadamia nut pancakes with house-made coconut syrup, Kalua pork eggs benedict, homemade corned beef hash, and giant stuffed omelets. They also have a full coffee and espresso menu, featuring locally roasted coffee from Kaua’i Roastery!
After you’ve digested your big and delicious breakfast, you’ll need an activity to get moving! A perfect place to do that is Kayak Kaua’i at the Wailua River Marina. Experience the many moods of the beautiful Garden Island, from sunny coastal shores to misty mountain bogs. They can even help you become a deep-water paddler and a fledgling birdwatcher!
Even if you’re still full from breakfast, maybe you need a light lunch after all that kayaking! Waipouli Deli & Restaurant has American, Japanese, and Hawaiian dishes! So, grab a few to share amongst your group or call dibs on a plate of your own, and enjoy some classic Hawaiian specialties or something more familiar to you.
Once you’ve had a quick bite to refuel your battery, we’re going shopping! The Poipu Shopping Village is a lovely garden setting in the heart of Poipu, and they have a lot to do. Unique shops and boutiques, art, and a free, authentic Hula show with live Hawaiian music every Monday and Thursday afternoon.
Now that you’ve walked throughout the mall, it’s time to sit down for a decadent Kaua’i dinner! A wonderful option is Duke’s Kaua’i. In his lifetime, Duke Kahanamoku traveled all over the world and introduced people to the Hawaiian lifestyle and the sport of surfing. Duke visited Kaua’i and enjoyed the beach and bay right out in front of what is now: Duke’s Kauai. You are invited to dine and enjoy the stunning beach setting with views out to the crystal blue waters of Nawiliwili Bay and the Hoary Head Mountains beyond.
After dinner, finish off the evening with a stroll down any of Kaua’i’s spectacular beaches, watching the sunset and recollecting your memorable day.
BOTTOM LINE: Trying to plan a vacation or any kind of day trip in Kaua’i can easily become overwhelming. So, we hope we helped you out a little bit when it comes to the scheduling department!
And if you find that Kaua’i is too irresistible to leave for long, I’d love nothing more than show you some real estate in Kaua’i so you can enjoy the Garden Island’s perks 365 days a year. Homes for sale in Kaua’i are calling your name!
